So it was a nice sunny day, and I'd gotten sent home a bit early to get a head start on the 3-day holiday weekend.
Why don't we take the kids for a walk around the neighborhood? we said to ourselves and then to our children so they wouldn't think us nuts talking to ourselves.

At least we'd had the good luck to think to bring along the strollers.
Erin was a trooper under the blanket, too.
Pushing our little paisley ghost down the avenue...people in cars looking at us strangely...
